We Believe in Being Honest

Or at least we should.  Many members of my family are struggling with this.  Do you have any suggestions?  I am very open to ideas. PLEASE! (I feel compelled to add. I am talking about my kids not some major family crisis.)

Drue had been repeatedly stealing fruit snacks,go-gurts and candy from the pantry after being told not to, as well as other age-typical dishonesty. I made him write out 6 scriptures about honesty on 3 X 5 cards and write what they meant and then discuss them with me. Because he has lost our trust we have been checkeing up on him about everything, which he can't stand. We explained that when he is worthy of trust, we will trust him. He seems to be getting better but I think it is a learning process. I think the best thing is for your kids to understand what honesty is, that dishonesty in any form is wrong, and then hold them accountable via privledge loss etc when they slip up. Good luck. ---Carrie
