Lice

Yep, we have it.  It has been going around the school for months and we finally have it.  FYI, Tea Tree shampoo doesn't prevent it.  Anyway, one of my friends has helped me go through the girls hair.  She asked that I put this lifecycle on my blog to inform people.  I am happy to do it since she has been a lifesaver.
Lice is a pain!! (especially when you are pregnant)

UGH! I had it in first grade. All I remember is my Mom washing my hair in the kitchen sink with rancid shampoo while I ate a popsicle. The popsicles really helped. Good luck!

Lice nightmares every night for 7 months... yes it was that traumatizing for me. So glad Amy helped you so much. Hope things are going better!

Ohhh Karen I am sooooo sorry! It is so miserable. When Mac told me my heart sank - especially since I know you are pregnant and all those shampoos are so toxic. Something is wrong in room 8. I can't believe how many people have got it. Hang in there - this too shall pass. (PS such a bummer about tea tree shampoo. I've been spraying Mac's hair with it for weeks now. I felt like I was doing something to prevent it again. They must be like cockroaches.) Any way I'm here if you need moral support - I've been there down that.

That's the pits.
My friend's very long haired little girl had it last year. I probably would have shaved her head, but my friend lovingly and painstakingly took care of her little girl until it was over. Good luck, hang in there.

The WORST part of mothering is dealing with head lice...and morning sickness.

And it is SO hard to get rid of...what FInally worked for me was miracle whip or mayonaise in their hair and then I bagged it and made them sit under the dryer for 60 minutes, under HOT. I felt so mean......suposedly it soaks into the nits and kills them. It worked but I swear it took 3 weeks of combing through their hair, and still finding old dead nits. NIGHTMARE!...I remember when Beths kids had it too Not too long after mine did...Crap my hair itches now!
